Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2024 is a national-level engineering entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various undergraduate engineering programs in India. It is the first stage of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), which also includes JEE Advanced.
Important Dates:
- Session 1:
- Exam Dates: January 24, 27, 29, 30, 31, and February 1, 2024
- Answer Key Release: February 7, 2024
- Result Declaration: February 12, 2024
- Session 2:
- Registration: February 2 to March 2, 2024
- Exam Dates: April 4 to 15, 2024
Eligibility:
- Candidates must have passed the Class 12 examination or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.
- There are no restrictions on age or attempts for appearing in JEE Main.
- For B.Arch programs, candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
Exam Pattern:
- JEE Main is a computer-based test (CBT) conducted in two sessions:
- Session 1: January 2024 (already conducted)
- Session 2: April 2024 (upcoming)
- Each session consists of three papers:
- Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.): Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (30 questions each, total 90 questions)
- Paper 2A (B.Arch.): Mathematics and Drawing Test (both have 30 questions each, total 60 questions)
- Paper 2B (B.Planning): Mathematics and Planning Aptitude Test (both have 30 questions each, total 60 questions)
- Each question carries 4 marks and there is a negative marking of -1 mark for every incorrect answer.
- The total duration of the exam is 3 hours.

Registration:

- The registration fee is Rs. 1000 for all categories of candidates.
Counselling:
- Qualified candidates will be called for counselling based on their JEE Main scores.
- Counselling will be conducted by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB).
