Grand Inauguration of RTESD-2026 at Vivekananda Global University: A Global Platform for Environment and Sustainable Development

The 5th International Conference on “Recent Trends in Environment and Sustainable Development (RTESD-2026)” was grandly inaugurated at Vivekananda Global University (VGU), Jaipur. The two-day international conference is being organized from 22 to 24 January 2026 at the Auditorium, Technology Block of the university. The event has brought together academicians, scientists, environmental experts, researchers, and policymakers from India and abroad. A total of 418 academicians and research scholars registered for the conference, reflecting its global relevance and academic significance.

The inaugural ceremony began with the arrival of the chief guests at the Board Room of the Technology Block, followed by their formal welcome at the auditorium. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana, creating an atmosphere of dignity, positivity, and scholarly enthusiasm.

Shri M. R. Bagaria warmly welcomed the dignitaries by presenting bouquets and shawls. In his welcome address, Prof. (Dr.) Kailash Agrawal highlighted the theme and global importance of the conference. He emphasized that environmental protection and sustainable development are not merely academic discussions but essential concerns directly linked to the future of human civilization. He called for collective thinking and concrete action to address environmental challenges.

During the ceremony, the Conference Abstract Book was formally released. Prof. (Dr.) Subodh Srivastava elaborated on the objectives, concept, and achievements of the RTESD conference series over the years, highlighting its contribution to research and global dialogue.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) D. V. S. Bhagavanulu reaffirmed the university’s commitment to promoting research, innovation, and international collaboration. Shri M. R. Bagaria further stated that young researchers and students have a crucial role in tackling global environmental challenges through innovative and responsible research.

As the Guest of Honour, Dr. Meghendra Sharma emphasized the integration of traditional knowledge, indigenous thinking, and modern science as the foundation for sustainable development. He highlighted that Indian knowledge traditions have long upheld the principles of balance and coexistence with nature.

In his keynote address, Chief Guest Shri V. Saravanan Kumar, IAS stressed the importance of linking research outcomes with policy formulation. He described international conferences like RTESD-2026 as effective platforms for dialogue among government bodies, academic institutions, and society, ensuring that research contributes meaningfully to sustainable policymaking.

The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Prof. (Dr.) Sushila, Convener of RTESD-2026, followed by the National Anthem.

In the upcoming sessions, the conference will feature research paper presentations, technical sessions, expert lectures, and panel discussions. These sessions aim to develop practical solutions for environmental conservation, climate change mitigation, green technologies, and the achievement of sustainable development goals.
