BSEH Class 10th and 12th 2025-26: Everything You Need to Know

The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH), commonly known as HBSE or the Haryana Board, is headquartered at Bhiwani, Haryana. Established in 1969, BSEH governs secondary (Class 10) and senior secondary (Class 12) education across all 22 districts of Haryana. It affiliates over 9,000 schools across government, government-aided, and private categories and conducts examinations for regular students, Haryana Open School (HOS) students, re-appear candidates, improvement seekers, and additional subject examinees.

For the 2025-26 academic session, BSEH released the date sheet on January 27, 2026. The Class 12 (Senior Secondary) theory exams are being conducted from February 25 to April 1, 2026, while the Class 10 (Secondary) theory exams run from February 26 to March 20, 2026. Both exams are held in a single afternoon shift from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Practical examinations for both classes were conducted in February 2026, before the theory exams. Approximately 5,66,400 students across 1,421 examination centres are appearing for the BSEH 2026 board exams.

This comprehensive guide covers everything you need to know: the complete subject-wise timetable for both classes, admit card process, full syllabus for all streams, exam pattern, passing criteria, grading system, result dates, and expert preparation strategies — all in one place.

BSEH 2025-26 – Key Features and Important Updates

Several important features and updates distinguish the BSEH 2025-26 examination session:

  • Date Sheet Released January 27, 2026: BSEH released the final date sheet for both Class 10 and Class 12 simultaneously on January 27, 2026 — giving students approximately four weeks to prepare with a confirmed schedule.
  • Single Afternoon Shift: All BSEH theory exams are conducted in a single afternoon shift from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. This is an important distinction from most other boards (like CBSE and PSEB) that use morning shifts. Students should organise their study routine accordingly.
  • Class 12 Starts with English: The Class 12 exams begin with the English paper on February 25, 2026. Class 10 exams begin with Mathematics on February 26, 2026.
  • Different Passing Marks for Class 10 and 12: A critical distinction — BSEH Class 10 requires a minimum of 33% to pass each subject, while Class 12 requires 35%. Students appearing for Class 12 must be aware of this higher threshold.
  • QR Code-Based Question Papers: BSEH has introduced QR code-based question papers to enhance security and prevent malpractice. This is a significant technological upgrade that ensures question paper integrity.
  • 1,421 Examination Centres: Exams are conducted at 1,421 examination centres across Haryana, including in rural areas, to reduce travel burden on students from remote locations.
  • Open School (HOS) Students: Practical exams for HOS Fresh, Re-appear, Swayampathi, and other open school categories are scheduled in April 2026 — separate from regular students whose practicals are in February 2026.
  • Specially Abled Students: Students with disabilities including visual impairment, hearing impairment, physical disability of extremities, and specific learning disabilities (Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, Developmental Aphasia) receive 20 extra minutes per hour of examination along with the services of an amanuensis (scribe).

Students should download the official BSEH Class 10 date sheet PDF from bseh.org.in and verify their exact subject codes. Answer sheets for Hindi and English medium students are evaluated separately; the exam centre superintendent will note the medium on each student’s answer sheet.

BSEH Class 12th Date Sheet 2026 – Complete Subject-wise Schedule (All Streams)

Stream-specific notes for Class 12: Science stream students have a well-distributed schedule — Physics (Feb 27), Chemistry (March 1), Biology (March 3), and Mathematics (March 5) — with just 2-day gaps between the most demanding subjects. Students must be exceptionally well-prepared for this intensive early stretch. Commerce students face Business Studies (Feb 27), Accountancy (March 1), Economics (March 3), and Mathematics (March 5) — also in rapid succession. Arts students have History (Feb 27), Political Science (March 1), Geography (March 3), and Sociology/Economics (March 5).

All streams share the same English paper on February 25 and the Hindi paper on March 7. Always verify specific subject codes from the official BSEH Class 12 date sheet PDF at bseh.org.in, as minor subject code distinctions apply between Science, Commerce, and Arts stream papers.

BSEH Practical Exams 2025-26 – Class 10th and 12th

Practical examinations for regular students of both Class 10 and Class 12 are conducted in February 2026 — before the theory exams begin. This allows students to complete their practical marks early and focus entirely on theory preparation.

Key Details of BSEH Practical Exams 2026

  • Regular students: Practical exams in February 2026, conducted at respective schools from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Open School / HOS / Swayampathi / Re-appear students: Practical exams in April 2026 at designated centres
  • External examiners: Practical exams for Class 12 are conducted under the supervision of external examiners appointed by BSEH
  • Class 10 practical marks: Most subjects carry 100 marks total — approximately 30 marks for practical/internal and 70 for theory
  • Class 12 marks distribution: Theory 70 marks + Practical/Internal 30 marks = 100 marks (for most subjects)
  • Students must score 33% (Class 10) or 35% (Class 12) in the practical component separately

Class 10 Subjects with Practical Components

  • Science: Lab-based experiments covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
  • Computer Science / Information Technology: Computer-based practical tasks and project file
  • Home Science: Practical cooking, nutrition, and household management tasks
  • Drawing and Fine Arts: Portfolio and live assessment
  • Music (Vocal and Instrumental): Performance-based evaluation
  • Physical Education (NSQF): Fitness and sports performance

Class 12 Subjects with Practical Components

  • Physics: Experiments including optics, electricity, and electronics
  • Chemistry: Qualitative analysis, titrations, and organic chemistry experiments
  • Biology: Dissection, microscopy, slide preparation, and field experiments
  • Computer Science / Informatics Practices: Programming lab and practical file submission
  • Psychology: Case studies, surveys, and psychological experiments
  • Home Science: Nutrition projects, child development, and life skills assessment
  • Geography: Map-based practicals, field work reports, and project submission
  • Fine Arts and Drawing: Portfolio submissions and live assessment
  • Agriculture: Field-based experiments and maintenance of practical records

Students must preserve their practical records, lab files, and project submissions as these may be required during re-evaluation or in case of discrepancies. Students who miss practicals without board-approved reason receive zero marks in that component with no provision for a re-practical exam.

BSEH Admit Card 2026 – Class 10th and 12th

The BSEH Admit Card 2026 for both Class 10 and Class 12 was released in January 2026 through the official website bseh.org.in. BSEH has two distinct processes for regular students and private/open school students.

Regular Students – How to Get the BSEH Admit Card 2026

Key distinction: BSEH Class 12 requires 35% passing marks, while Class 10 requires 33%. This is one of the most common points of confusion for students — Class 12 students must be aware that the threshold is higher. Both components (theory and practical) must be passed separately, with the respective minimum percentage in each. A student scoring 70% in practicals but below the minimum in theory will be considered a fail in that subject.

BSEH Class 10th and 12th 2025-26 – Expert Preparation Tips

With BSEH Class 10 exams running until March 20, 2026, and Class 12 until April 1, 2026, here are eight expert strategies to help you score maximum marks in every remaining paper:

1. Know Your Passing Mark Threshold — Especially for Class 12

The most important thing to remember: BSEH Class 10 requires 33% to pass each subject, but Class 12 requires 35%. This difference of 2% can be the difference between pass and fail. Class 12 students must target at least 35% (25/70 in theory and 11/30 in practical) in every single subject — not 33%. Plan your preparation with this higher threshold in mind.

2. Use NCERT Textbooks as Your Core Study Material

BSEH follows the NCERT curriculum for Science, Mathematics, History, Political Science, Geography, Economics, Sociology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Accountancy. NCERT textbooks are the most reliable source. Read every chapter thoroughly, including intext questions, exercises, and exemplar problems for Mathematics and Science. For Hindi, Sanskrit, and English literature, use the BSEH-prescribed textbooks and readers.

3. Take Advantage of the Afternoon Shift Timing

Unlike most boards, BSEH exams are held in the afternoon (12:30 PM to 3:30 PM). Use your mornings for final revision of the subject you have that day. Start revision by 7–8 AM, take a break, eat a light lunch, and head to the centre. Avoid heavy meals before the exam as they can cause drowsiness during the afternoon shift.

4. Solve BSEH Previous Year Question Papers (5+ Years)

Solving the last 5 to 10 years of BSEH previous year papers is the single most effective preparation strategy. It reveals the exact question format, recurring topics, the structure of long-answer questions, and builds time management within the 3-hour limit. BSEH previous year papers are available at bseh.org.in under ‘Old Question Papers’ and on major educational portals.

5. Practice BSEH Model Papers Under Real Exam Conditions

Practise BSEH model/sample papers from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM — the exact timing of your exam. This adapts your body and mind to peak performance in the afternoon hours. After each mock test, review every incorrect or incomplete answer. Focus on improving answer presentation and time allocation across sections.

6. Prepare Subject-wise Short Notes and Formula Sheets

Create a dedicated notebook with concise notes for each subject — key formulas for Mathematics and Physics, chemical equations and reactions for Chemistry, diagrams for Biology, dates and events for History, key concepts for Political Science and Sociology, and financial ratios for Accountancy. These 1–2 page summaries per chapter become your primary revision tool in the days leading up to each paper.

7. Focus on the Objective / MCQ Section

Both Class 10 and Class 12 BSEH papers include a significant MCQ/objective component. These questions test factual recall, definitions, formulas, and single-concept understanding — and can be answered quickly without lengthy writing. Practise MCQs from every chapter consistently. Fast and accurate objective answering builds a solid base score and preserves time for long answers.

8. Respect Every Inter-Exam Gap in the Timetable

For Class 12 Science students, the timetable’s early stretch is intense — Physics (Feb 27), Chemistry (March 1), Biology (March 3), Mathematics (March 5). Each gap is only 2 days. Start preparing these four subjects well before the exams. For Class 10, use the 3-day gap between Mathematics (Feb 26) and Science (Feb 28) for Science MCQ revision. For every remaining paper, plan your gap day with specific revision targets and stick to them.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) – BSEH Class 10th and 12th 2025-26

Q1. When are the BSEH Class 10 and Class 12 exams in 2025-26?

The BSEH Class 10 (Secondary) theory exams are being held from February 26 to March 20, 2026, starting with Mathematics. The BSEH Class 12 (Senior Secondary) theory exams run from February 25 to April 1, 2026, starting with English. Both classes share a single afternoon shift from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Practical exams for regular students were completed in February 2026.

Q2. When was the BSEH date sheet 2026 released?

The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) officially released the date sheet for both Class 10 and Class 12 on January 27, 2026. The date sheet PDF is available for download at bseh.org.in under the ‘Date Sheet’ or ‘All Classes Date Sheet’ section. The timetable applies to regular students as well as HOS Fresh, Re-appear, Compartment, Improvement, and Additional candidates.

Q3. How do students get the BSEH admit card 2026?

Regular students receive the BSEH admit card from their school. Schools download the batch admit cards from bseh.org.in, print, sign, and stamp them before distributing to students. Private and open school (HOS) students can download the admit card directly from bseh.org.in by entering their Registration Number and Date of Birth. The printed admit card is mandatory for entry — a photocopy or soft copy is not accepted at the exam centre.

Q4. What is the minimum passing marks for BSEH Class 10 and Class 12 in 2026?

This is a critical difference: BSEH Class 10 requires a minimum of 33% in each subject to pass, while BSEH Class 12 requires 35% in each subject. For both classes, students must pass theory and practical components separately — high marks in one cannot compensate for failure in the other. Students who miss the minimum in any subject must appear for the supplementary exam.

Q5. What is unique about the BSEH 2026 exam timing?

Unlike most state boards that hold exams in the morning, BSEH 2025-26 exams are conducted in a single afternoon shift from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM — a unique feature of the Haryana Board. Students should organise their study schedule accordingly, using mornings for focused revision on the day’s subject. Heavy meals before the exam should be avoided to prevent afternoon drowsiness.

Q6. When will the BSEH Result 2026 be declared?

The BSEH Class 10 and Class 12 results 2026 are expected to be declared in May 2026. In 2025, the Class 12 result was declared on May 13, 2025, and the Class 10 result on May 17, 2025, both at bseh.org.in. Results can be checked online at bseh.org.in and indiaresults.com using roll number and date of birth. Re-evaluation for dissatisfied students costs Rs. 1,000 per answer book per subject.

Q7. How many students appear for BSEH Class 10 and 12 exams in 2026?

Approximately 5,66,400 students are appearing for the BSEH Class 10 and Class 12 combined examinations in 2026, across 1,421 examination centres spread across all districts of Haryana, including dedicated centres in rural areas. Around 4 lakh students are expected for Class 10 (Secondary) and approximately 2.5 lakh for Class 12 (Senior Secondary).

Conclusion

The BSEH Class 10th and 12th 2025-26 board examinations are a milestone for over 5.66 lakh students across Haryana. With Class 10 exams running until March 20, 2026, and Class 12 concluding on April 1, 2026, every remaining exam day is an opportunity to maximise your score.

Remember the two most critical points for BSEH 2026: First, exams are in the afternoon shift (12:30–3:30 PM) — plan your revision routine around this. Second, BSEH Class 12 requires 35% to pass each subject — higher than Class 10’s 33% threshold — and both theory and practical must be passed separately. Build your preparation around NCERT textbooks, solve BSEH previous year papers, practise model papers in the afternoon, and use every inter-exam gap strategically.
